3 Day Bear and Wolf Tour Details

Day One: Grand Teton National Park

Begin your fun-filled adventure with a courtesy pick-up from your personal guide at your hotel in Jackson Hole. From here, we will head to Grand Teton National Park where there is an abundance of wildlife. Grand Teton National Park is known as one of the best locations in the world for viewing great wildlife such as moose, elk, deer, bison, pronghorn, fox, coyote, bald and golden eagles, black bears, grizzly bears and wolves, season-permitting. Take as much time as desire to embrace the stunning scenery and attractions of Grand Teton National Park and scenic overlooks such as the Moulton Barns, Mormon Row, Schwabacher’s Landing, Elk Ranch, Signal Mountain and Maude Noble’s cabin.

We will then head north into Yellowstone National Park along the stunning Snake and Lewis rivers, to Lewis Falls and Lewis Lake towards the Continental Divide. We will be dropping into the Yellowstone Lake Basin; weather conditions and current events may influence the trip route. Our experienced guides offer educated recommendations on the route which usually travels on the east side. You will have the opportunity to visit the other side of the loop on the third day. The east side takes us around Yellowstone Lake to the north side where the Yellowstone River calmly flows into the famous Fishing Bridge. This is one of our best locations for bear and wolf watching in Yellowstone, so be sure to bring your camera for some great, up-close photo shots! Continuing along the route, we will have the chance to see the Mud Volcano on our way to Hayden Valley where the river flows through open sage meadows toward the great Grand Canyon of Yellowstone. A truly fantastic sight is the river at the top of the canyon falling over upper and lower falls, creating a 20-mile long canyon.

We will continue exploring and head to the Lamar Valley, which is often referred to as the Serengeti of North America. This is the single best wildlife viewing area in Yellowstone National Park with an abundance of grizzlies and wolves. We will be able to spend the afternoon and evening at this destination, with plenty of time to learn interesting facts about these mammals and photograph the incredible thermal features and spectacular scenery surrounding the park.

We will spend the night in beautiful Silvergate, Montana at the Grizzly Lodge. Guests will have a delicious dinner at a local eatery and then roast some toasty marshmallows over a cozy fire surrounded by Soda Butte creek and mystic mountains.

Day Two: Yellowstone National Park

We’ll start the day bright and early in Lamar Valley where we will have another chance to search and observe our beloved wolves and bears. Your group will also have the opportunity to visit popular areas of the park such as Mammoth Hot Springs, Tower Falls and the north entrance. Additionally, conditions permitting, we will explore the terrific Beartooth Pass and the Top of the World areas of the park. We will then return to Lamar Valley area to spend the afternoon in further search for wildlife. We will return to Silvergate for a warming dinner and evening spent by a blazing campfire.

Day Three: Yellowstone National Park

With an early wake, we will return to Lamar Valley for another prime opportunity to observe the wolves and bears, along with a delightful breakfast and refreshing coffee in the field surrounded by nature. You will have the freedom to decide how long you would like to spend viewing the bears, wolves and other wildlife before heading south through Yellowstone to experience other park attractions and spotting other wildlife that may have been missed on day one. Attractions may include the exciting upper, middle and lower geyser basins, and the brilliant eruption of Old Faithful located in the upper geyser basin. We will then head south over the Continental Divide three times on the return route to the Grand Teton National Park and Jackson. We will be returning you to your designated hotel in Jackson by evening in time to check-in and grab dinner.
