From here, we will head to Grand Teton National Park where there is an abundance of wildlife. Grand Teton National Park is known as one of the best locations in the world for viewing great wildlife such as moose, elk, deer, bison, pronghorn, fox, coyote, bald and golden eagles, black bears, grizzly bears and wolves, season-permitting. We will then head north into Yellowstone National Park along the stunning Snake and Lewis rivers, to Lewis Falls and Lewis Lake towards the Continental Divide. We will be dropping into the Yellowstone Lake Basin; weather conditions and current events may influence the trip route. Our experienced guides offer educated recommendations on the route which usually travels on the east side. You will have the opportunity to visit the other side of the loop on the third day. The east side takes us around Yellowstone Lake to the north side where the Yellowstone River calmly flows into the famous Fishing Bridge. This is one of our best locations for bear and wolf watching in Yellowstone, so be sure to bring your camera for some great, up-close photo shots! Continuing along the route, we will have the chance to see the Mud Volcano on our way to Hayden Valley where the river flows through open sage meadows toward the great Grand Canyon of Yellowstone. A truly fantastic sight is the river at the top of the canyon falling over upper and lower falls, creating a 20-mile long canyon.
We will continue exploring and head to the Lamar Valley, which is often referred to as the Serengeti of North America. This is the single best wildlife viewing area in Yellowstone National Park with an abundance of grizzlies and wolves. We will be able to spend the afternoon and evening at this destination, with plenty of time to learn interesting facts about these mammals and photograph the incredible thermal features and spectacular scenery surrounding the park.
