Granite Hot Springs Snowmobile Tour Summary
The Granite Hot Springs Snowmobile Tour is real treat. This tour take you off the beaten path and is often overlooked by visitors who come to snowmobile Jackson Hole WY. Many people do not realize that this is actually a local’s favorite and for good reason. It is certainly one of the most popular Jackson snowmobiling experiences we offer. Many locals like to go to the hot springs with friends and simply relax and soak while taking in the beautiful surroundings.
Granite Hot Springs is located in the beautiful Gros Ventre Range. The trailhead is located 30 miles south of Jackson. From the trailhead it is a scenic 10-mile snowmobile ride to drive to the hot spring pool. The hot springs were originally developed by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the mid 1930’s. There is an adjacent spring next to the pool that provides crystal clear water that flows into the pool. The water in the pool is replaced everyday by the spring to ensure that the water is clean and fresh.
During summer months it’s a 10 mile drive on a dusty, bumpy dirt road to get to the springs. However, in the winter, it becomes a beautiful scenic snowmobile trail. While there are restrictions for riding off trail here, there are plenty of thrills on the trail as you wind your way up this beautiful canyon.
Arriving at Granite Hot Springs, you will find a changing room where you can quickly change out of your snowmobiling gear and into your swimsuit for a quick soak. Don’t worry about the water being a little cold, the water is a steamy 112F. This picturesque location is set among towering spruce and pine trees. Relax your tired muscles and enjoy your surroundings.
